Principal's Letter

On behalf of the students, faculty and staff, I would like to welcome you to Midland Elementary school.  My name is Alycia Benson and I am honored to serve the community as Midland’s principal.  I have been working in MVUSD as an educator since 2000.  Midland is dear to my heart and I have served at Midland as a teacher and as an assistant principal.  The faculty and staff of Midland comprise an outstanding team that cares about student success and making a difference in the lives of children.

I know that this is not the school start that we thought we would have but we are here to support you.  If you are having any problems with Distance Learning, please contact the school and we will be happy to help you.  We will get through this together.

Many things have changed this school year, but some things are the same.  Midland Elementary is still an outstanding school with a rich history.  Our team provides an academically challenging, standards-based curriculum while helping children develop a lifelong love of learning.  We have high expectations of ourselves and for our students.  With support from student families, student effort and our dynamic staff, the students at Midland will soar to new heights this school year.

We are looking forward to working with our parent groups again. Your connection to the school is critical to your child’s success.  Please, feel free to stop by my virtual office and look around.  Links to parent resources are available by clicking on the shareable resources picture on the wall in my virtual office.  Also, please call the school or schedule a Zoom meeting if you would like to speak with me about any questions, concerns or just to say hello.

We are looking forward to a great school year.  Welcome to Midland Elementary!

Alycia Benson, M.Ed.
